RGB SCART Switch Recommendation

I have a Sony KDL-40D3500 TV which has the follwing inputs
AV1 - SCART
AV2 - SCART
AV3 - Component YPbPr
AV4 - HDMI
AV5 - HDMI
AV6 - Composite/S-Video

And I connect up all of my sources as folows
Code: Select all
FreeSat (FoxSat-HD)
|------------HDMI--------------------------> TV (HDMI AV4)
|------------SCART----> TiVo1 ----SCART----> TV (SCART AV1)

FreeView (Sony VTX-D800U)
|------------SCART----> TiVo2 ----SCART----> TV (SCART AV2)

TNTSat (Thomson TSR-400)
|------------Composite---------------------> TV (Composite AV6)
|------------SCART------------------------->

PS3
|------------HDMI--------------------------> TV (HDMI AV5)

For the TNTSat this is obviously not ideal as I can currently only use a
Composite TV input for it. I'd much prefer to use its RGB SCART output instead.

So what I'd like to know is - does anyone have a recommendation for an RGB SCART
switch? Ideally it would be one that has a remote control. In that way I
could program any switching sequence into my Logitech Harmony 555 Remote

If one (or both) of the TiVo VCR SCARTs is empty you can use that as an RGB input. See viewtopic.php?f=8&t=746#p6215 and the post after it from mrtickle.

Doh :oops: - I hadn't even thought of that - simplest solution is always the best. Thanks Dr Geoff and Mr Tickle.

I shall wire the TNTSat RGB SCART into TiVo2 VCR SCART and then program the Logitech to select TV input AV2 and then send the VCR command to TiVo2. Excellent :D

If you program the Harmony remote to select the TiVo VCR input, it is probably best to ensure that the TiVo's own auto switch to the VCR input is disabled. Otherwise you may experience "race conditions" between the auto switch and the VCR button which I think is a toggle. (Not convenient for me to experiment as I type this.)

Good point - and remember to unset the VCR input when finished watching TNTSat :)
