New remote codes?

I know its early days yet and the alternative EPG has got to take priority but will we be able to add new remote codes to the available selection? Inspired by the Tivo 1.5 mod I'd like to create a more integrated solution for the Freeview source.
Further on from that would it be feasible to hack a later series Tivo? Twin tuners would be wonderful and it strikes me that the Australian Tivo would be quite close to our needs. I know it would be expensive to import but for me it would be worth it (if it could be made to work).
