Trying to register another Tivo and going round in circles.

As mikethebike my email is an old one I cannot access, tried to change but failed
Registered now as mikemusic and still cannot register a new Tivo

Very happy to go back to being mikethebike if that can be done

(hopefully this makes sense !)

Any help gratefully received

Accounts for registering TiVos are different to the forum accounts. They used to be seperate web sites but were merged a while back.

As long as you still have the login details for your forum account it can be transferred to a new email address, except that you cannot use the same address twice so if you've created a new account keep using the new account.

TiVos are registered on the Account Management page (http://www.altepg.com/accountManagement/accountManager.pl). This is separate from the forum login and you need to register the email address first (http://www.altepg.com/registeranaccount/index.php). The email address is the way the system keeps track of TiVos, so if you have a new email address and want to register a new TiVo you need to create a new account.

If you have more than one TiVo the old TiVo will continue to work but it can keep things tidy if you can use the "transfer ownership" option to move all your TiVo's onto a single account. You'll also need to do this if you're using one of the optional packages such as DailyMail that requires a working email address.

When I enter my either email address in the AltEpg Account Management it auto changes to my forum name
Fine if I could register a new Tivo but I can't.

From all combinations. Still get
"Oops! An error occurred.
Sorry, that email address and password combination does not exist in the database"

I could try the another PC, another email address but I suspect I will have the same problem - or is that a viable answer ?

I've just looked again at the account registration and seems it changed at some point to allow forum and TiVo accounts to be linked. So ignore what I said about needing separate accounts.

I think you'll need assistance from the website owner. Use the 'contact' link at the bottom of the account registration page.

That sounds like you have auto-complete switched on in your browser. Just delete the auto changed address and type whatever you want.
